Keeping its tradition of employee engagement and team building alive, Mobilink has initiated a number of programs and events for its employees. Mobilink Juniors was one such initiative that began in 2007.
Mobilink Juniors is about, fun & learning. Children get to enjoy Mosaic work, design jewelry and toys, participate in community work and sit for recreational and educational classes like music and pottery making. Theme oriented puppet shows, fancy dress shows, museum visits, Independence Day celebrations, magic shows and interactive mind games are a much loved part of this guild. This nationwide program provides employees’ children an opportunity to learn and have fun through interesting and interactive activities, while giving them a chance to socialize. It is specifically designed for children below 11 years of age and events are held on a quarterly basis. At this family gala, we take pride in the fact that juniors parents and grandparents are actively involved.
The most recent event was held on 24th of September 2011, at the Pakistan Museum of Natural History in Islamabad. The event was attended by a whopping 200 participants (Mobilink employees and their children), which goes to show the popularity of the program amongst the Mobilink family. The event included a detailed guided tour of the science gallery, cave life gallery, ECO gallery, the gem gallery and the bio gallery. The young Mobilinkers visibly enjoyed the tour and actively listened to explanations of the exhibits given by the tour guide.
The Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation; Dr Mansoor H. Somro and Director General PNMH, M. Akhtar Javed attended the event as chief guests. The VP HR & Admin Mobilink, Sadia Ahmad, also participated in the event with her family. The guests mingled freely with the young crowd and were soon lost amongst the inquisitive youngsters, explaining the significance of the heritage and culture of the country. Towards the end, a drawing competition was held which was really appreciated by the youngsters and their parents alike.
The aim of this particular excursion was to educate the young audience and their parents about the history, culture and heritage of Pakistan and its importance in a fun manner. It was evident from their excitement that they had learnt a lot and could hardly wait for the next Mobilink Juniors event.
This initiative was organized by Ms. Saira Akram, HR.
